Care Santos (Mataró, Barcelona, 1970) publicou seis romances, seis livros de contos e inúmeros títulos de literatura para jovens, área onde é uma das autoras mais lidas de Espanha.
Entre os seus títulos destacam-se Aprender a huir, Los que rugen e La muerte de Venus. Com este último foi finalista do Prémio Primavera em 2007.
É crítica literária do suplemento «El Cultural», do diário El Mundo, colaboradora de diversos meios de comunicação e coordenadora de conteúdos do website de crítica literária «La Tormenta en un Vaso.»
A sua obra encontra-se traduzida numa dezena de línguas.
