Armando Silva Carvalho
Armando Silva Carvalho was born in Olho Marinho, Óbidos, in 1938. He graduated in Law from the University of Lisbon, but practiced law for a short time, opting instead for journalism, teaching, advertising, and translation.
His work has been recognized by critics and distinguished with several awards, such as the APE Grand Prize for Poetry, the PEN Club Prize, the Fernando Namora Prize, the DST Grand Prize for Literature, and the Casino da Póvoa / Correntes d’Escritas Prize, to name just a few.
