Especialista e Mestre em Turismo e Lazer, é docente das licenciaturas de Turismo da Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias e do Instituto Superior de Ciências Educativas de Odivelas, no qual integra o seu Conselho Técnico-Científico. Foi diretor da ENATUR, S.A. e da ESTA – Gestão de Hotéis e administrador de empresas turísticas. Liderou a equipa técnica que elaborou a Estratégia de Eficiência Coletiva PROVERE "Turismo e Património do Vale do Côa". É Secretário-Geral da Confederação do Turismo de Portugal e membro do Conselho Económico e Social. É autor de vários artigos sobre turismo.
