ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Albert Einstein

Considerado o fundador da física moderna, Albert Einstein nasceu a 14 de março de 1879, em Ulm, na Alemanha. Doutorou-se pela Universidade de Zurique em 1905. Os seus artigos científicos sobre o efeito fotoelétrico, o movimento browniano, a relatividade especial e a equivalência massa-energia (E = mc2) tornar-se-iam marcos fundacionais da física moderna.
Em 1916, publicou em alemão Relatividade: Teoria Especial e Teoria Geral, obra que seria traduzida para o inglês em 1920. Em 1921, Einstein foi galardoado com o Prémio Nobel da Física «pelos seus serviços prestados à Física Teórica e, especialmente, pela sua descoberta da lei do efeito fotoelétrico». Einstein morreu a 18 de abril de 1955, aos 76 anos, em Princeton, Nova Jérsia (EUA).
