Judith Kerr

Judith Kerr nasceu em Berlim, em 1923. O seu pai, um famoso escritor alemão e feroz crítico do regime nazi, temia sofrer represálias caso Hitler subisse ao poder. Por isso, fugiram da Alemanha quando Judith tinha apenas nove anos. Judith, os pais e o irmão atravessaram a Suíça e a França e, em 1936, chegaram a Inglaterra. Foi aí que a autora escreveu esta história semi-autobiográfica, Quando Hitler Roubou o Coelho Cor-de-Rosa, publicada pela primeira vez em 1971, e considerada um clássico da literatura infantojuvenil.

Em 1945, Judith ganhou uma bolsa para a Central SchoolofArts, e, desde então, tem trabalhado como artista, guionista de televisão e, ao longo dos últimos trinta anos, como autora e ilustradora de livros infantojuvenis.
