Willy is a creative soul struggling to come to terms with the death of her parents. She crafts whimsical lamps, in part to deal with her fear of the dark. She longs for adventures with her friends; her wish is granted in the form of a carnival and blackout thanks to a hurricane named Whitney, forcing Willy to face her fears.
