The Shape Of Water

"A forma da água" foi um dos meus filmes favoritos de 2017, um conto de fadas para adultos baseado no belo principio de abraçar as diferenças e amá-las (o outro foi o "chama-me pelo teu nome", mas não vamos por o carro à frente dos bois...) Procurava mais profundidade para as personagens enquanto revisitava o mundo que Del Toro criou. Não tenho a certeza se o livro conseguiu esse objectivo para todas as personagens, contudo dá-lhes um maior "background", o que foi agradável de ler. No entanto existem cenas que não chegaram ás paginas enquanto outras foram alteradas, essas foram as maiores fraquezas do livro. Dizemdo isto, penso que se não tivesse visto o filme teria gostado muito mais do livro./"The shape of water" was one of my favourite films of 2017, a fairy-tale for adults rooted on the beautiful principle of embracing the differences and love them (the other was "Call me by your name" which is also on my to read list, but let's not get ahead of ourselves...) I was looking for more depth to the characters whilst revisiting the world Guillermo del Toro has created. I'm not sure the book has succeeded in relation to all the characters, however it gives a larger background to most of them, that was nice to read. Still there are scenes which never made it to the book while others were altered, those to me are the biggest weaknesses of the book. That being said. I think I'd have liked the book much more if I hadn't watched the film.
