Offers a description of the processes that occur in somatic sensory pathways to the cortex due to damage to the nervous system. This work emphasizes changes in the cortex that are linked to changes in behavior, and demonstrates the potential for brain-based interventions to improve the quality of life for those with sensory-motor disabilities.
