Cada capítulo é vivido entre o agora (ao longo de um fim de semana) e os verões passados desde o momento em que a Percy e o Sam de conhecem até que se afastam. A história está muito bem conseguida e as personagens são incríveis.

If you're looking for an excellent coming-of-age love story, Carley Fortune's debut novel, "Every Summer After," is a must-read. Set against the backdrop of a sleepy lakeside town in Ontario, the story follows the tumultuous relationship between two childhood friends - Percy and Sam. Told in alternating past and present narratives, readers are given a unique perspective on the events that led to their separation twelve years ago, and the journey that brings them back together. What makes this book so special is Fortune's richly drawn characters and her lyrical writing style. The setting is so vividly described that I felt like I was right there with Percy and Sam, experiencing all the highs and lows of their relationship. The dialogue is realistic and often humorous, and the romance is swoon-worthy without being melodramatic. Overall, "Every Summer After" is a beautifully written tale of love, loss, and redemption. It's nostalgic, heartbreaking, and ultimately triumphant - everything I look for in a great summer read. The book is a beautiful tribute to the power of first love, and it left me giddy with teenager energy, longing for my own summer romance. One of my favourite reads of 2022.

Com capítulos relativos tanto ao passado, onde estes passam6 verões juntos, como ao presente , e uma escrita bastante fácil de entender, este livro é a leitura perfeita para o verão. O final foi um pouco apressado e previsível, no entanto, para ávidos amantes do livro “Love and other words” da Christina Lauren, este é a escolha perfeita.

Carley Fortune é autora e reconhecida jornalista natural de Toronto. Quando era criança, viveu em Sydney, na Austrália, e em Barry’s Bay, uma pequena localidade na zona rural de Ontário que serviu de cenário a Cada Verão Passado, o seu primeiro romance, que imediatamente se transformou num sucesso de vendas.
O seu segundo livro, Vem Ter Comigo ao Lago, teve também sucesso imediato, tendo entrado diretamente para o 1.º lugar do top de vendas do New York Times na semana do seu lançamento.
