An eight-volume work on the history of Greece, first published between 1835 and 1844 by the scholar (and later Bishop of St David's), Connop Thirlwall. The work was commissioned for Lardner's 'Cabinet Cyclopaedia' series, and the volumes were aimed at those who wanted a comprehensive knowledge of Greek history, but could not interpret the ancient authors.
