Blow-Out

Bob Orrell worked as a radio operator on an oil rig. Here, he offers an account of events leading up to the rig blowout, suffered at the height of a fierce winter gale. He tells of how rescue boats and helicopters battled against raging seas to evacuate terrified men from the gas-filled platform.
