ABOUT THE ARTIST

Gorgoroth

Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1992 in Bergen by Infernus (guitar), Ares (bass), Grim (drums), and Hat (vocals). Named after a dark kingdom in Tolkien's Middle-earth, they have become symbols of the most extreme and controversial scene in black metal.

The debut album Pentagram (1994) features raw and icy black metal, followed by Antichrist (1996) and Under the Sign of Hell (1997), both fundamental in defining the aggressive and atmospheric sound of the genre. Over the years, the band has gone through legal disputes and member turnover, but Infernus has maintained creative control.

With albums like Incipit Satan (2000), Crepúsculo dos ídolos (2003) and Instinctus Bestialis (2015), Gorgoroth continued to explore satanic and anti-Christian themes with ritualistic fury. Their shows, marked by shocking stage design and pyrotechnics, are experiences of dark devotion and provocation.
