Wild Animals And Settlers On The Great Plains

This history chronicles relations between settlers and the native fauna of Kansas from 1865 until 1880. While including the development of conservation and game laws, it also looks at the concerns and creativity of the individual settlers, who hunted and fished for food and recreation.
