She earned her PhD in Bioenergetics from East Carolina University, focusing on adaptations to metabolic surgery in obesity. She continued to explore metabolic diseases, with a special focus on insulin resistance, as a postdoctoral fellow at [Institution Name]. Duke-National University of SingaporeAs a professor at Brigham Young University and director of its Diabetes Research Laboratory, Dr. Bikman has continued to study insulin, including its role as a regulator of human metabolism, as well as the relevance of insulin in chronic diseases. In addition to research and teaching, Dr. Bikman actively mentors undergraduate and graduate students. He and his students frequently present and publish their results.
