Under An Imperial Sun

This work examines literary, linguistic and cultural representations of Japan's colonial south (nanpo), taking a cross-cultural, multidisciplinary approach that considers the views of both colonizer and colonized, as expressed in travel accounts, popular writings and scholarly works.
