ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Colleen McCullough

Colleen McCullough was born in 1937 in New South Wales, Australia. A neurologist by training, she worked in several hospitals in her native Australia and in England before spending ten years as a professor and researcher in the Department of Neurology at Yale University School of Medicine in the USA. In 1974 she published her first novel, Tim, and three years later she became world famous with the bestseller Thorn BirdsHe also wrote the acclaimed series. The First Man of Rome, Antony and Cleopatra, An Indecent Obsession, The House of Angels and A Woman's Independence, among many other novels. She passed away in January 2015, aged 77, on Norfolk Island, where she lived with her husband.
