A masterpiece
Cátia Rato
The Tattoist Of Auschwitz transports us to Auschwitz with a different perspective than what we are used to. We get to see how it was the life of the jews recruited to work for the nazis in privileged roles and how they used their position to help the other people. This book goes beyond the concentration camps and shows us how far determination can take us. It's not just a book about The Holocaust, it's also a book about hope, dreams and a way of facing the rocks life throws at us. The book was written while one of the protagonists was still alive, so we know the facts are really there. A must read.
A must read
Carla Seixas
Difficult to start reading because of the title which implies a book rich in human drama, but even more difficult to put down once you've started reading it. Lale and Gita's love story kept me turning the pages, in spite of the heartbreak of certain passages and the sheer savagery of certain events. This book will live with me for ever. I strongly recommend it to those who are brave enough to face the heinousness of certain crimes and want to keep on believing in the good within people.
