ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Georges Didi-Huberman

Georges Didi-Huberman, art historian and philosopher, teaches at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. An intellectual heir to Aby Warburg, Walter Benjamin, and Georges Bataille, he has devoted his reflection to a critical reading of the tradition of art history and the thought of images.

Encompassing both visual arts and art history, as well as psychoanalysis and the humanities, Didi-Huberman published over 40 titles, translated into several languages. His work covers an astonishing multiplicity of themes and artists, from hysteria to the Holocaust, from Fra Angelico to Pasolini, among others.
