Farid Ud-Din Attar

A vida deste senhor é, ainda hoje, um mistério. Muito pouco se sabe a seu respeito, apenas que terá vivido algures entre os séculos XII e XIII (nascido em Nishapur, no Norte da Pérsia, provavelmente no ano de 1121, e falecido em 1229). Viajou por diferentes países e estudou em vários mosteiros, escrevendo inúmeras obras. A Conferência dos Pássaros ganhou, entre todas, um lugar de destaque. Attar é unanimemente reconhecido como um dos maiores sufis de todos os tempos.
