ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Pema Chödrön
Pema Chödrön é uma monja budista que nasceu em Nova Iorque em 1936.
Formou-se na Universidade da Califórnia e foi durante muitos anos professora primária.
Após um difícil período na sua vida, Pema abraçou o budismo.
Em 1972, conheceu Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, que se tornou seu mestre desde então.
Ordenada monja em 1981, Pema é desde 1984 diretora da Abadia de Gampo, um mosteiro budistatibetano para monges e freiras ocidentais no Canadá.
Escreveu vários livros, incluindo Welcomingthe Unwelcome, Start Where You Are, The Wisdom of No Escape, Quando Tudo se Desfaz, Os Lugares que nos Assustam, entre outros.
Mãe de dois filhos e avó de três netos, Pema divide o seu tempo entre as aulas que leciona nos Estados Unidos e no Canadá.
