This book is a study of commercially unsuccessful writer Forrest Reid (1875â€"1947), whose life of provincial obscurity stands in stark contrast to his rich imaginative life. Reid was obsessed with boyhood, and childhood was the recurrent theme in his work. This book, first published in 1980, was the first study of the author for twenty-five years.
