ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jonathan Coe

Jonathan Coe was born in Birmingham in 1961. He is the author of various novels and non-fiction books, among which stands out... The Private Life of Maxwell Sim (Nominated for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award 2012), and winner of awards such as the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize 1995, Best Foreign Book of 1996 in France, the Writers’ Guild Best Fiction Award 1997, the Médicis Étranger 1998 and the 1st European Young Readers Prize. In 2004, he was named a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of France.
With The Heart of England (Costa Literary Prize 2019), published by Porto Editora, concluded the "unofficial" trilogy, which also includes... THE Rotters Club (2001) and The Closed Circle (2004), in which he humorously pointed out the fragilities of modern British society, especially those highlighted by Brexit.
