Uma leitura muito boa. Contém assuntos sensíveis mas permite-nos perceber como, as vezes, o nosso cérebro funciona de uma maneira autodestrutiva.

Sylvia Plath, best known for her astoundingly beautiful and profound poetry, achieves her magnus opus with this novel. "The Bell Jar", more than a semi-autobiographical novel, is an incredible testimony about life through the eyes of a young woman suffering from mental illness. While carefully worded, the novel manages to touch the tip of the iceberg that is the problematic social construct in the sixties, a fair amount of these comments resonate in our day and age. Since its publication,"The Bell Jar" has been critically acclaimed for its revolutionary content and writing style. However, the book has not received the praise it deserves in the general public; but, make no mistake, if there is any body of work that belongs on the "greatest novels ever written" list it is definitely this one.
