Scott Westerfeld, nascido no Texas (EUA), escreveu muitas obras aclamadas, incluindo a trilogia Midnighters, a série Uglies (quadriologia que a Vogais & Co. publicará em breve), e ainda uma nova trilogia (que também editaremos) que começa com Leviathan, um livro belissimamente ilustrado por Keith Thompson. Os seus livros foram nomeados pelo New York Times para integrar a lista «Notable Books of the Year» e ganhou os prémios Aurealis Award, Victorian Premier Award e Philip K. Dick Special Citation. As suas obras figuram regularmente nos tops de vendas nos EUA e noutros países. Scott é também designer e atualmente vive entre Nova Iorque e Sydney, na Austrália.
