Emma Howell was born in Portland, Oregon, and died in 2001 at the age of 20. In her short, extraordinary life she had studied Latin, Greek, and Russian; was fluent in Spanish and Portuguese; and could get by in French and Italian. She lived in both Spain and Brazil, and travelled widely in the world. This title is a collection of her mature poems.
