ABOUT THE AUTHOR

John Bradshaw

John Christopher Bradshaw was born in Adlington, Lancashire, England, on June 23, 1876, the son of John Bradshaw, a chemist, and his wife, Louisa Ward Jackson. He was educated in Rivington Grammar School and studied organ with James Kendrick Pyne at Royal Manchester College of MusicIn 1900, he obtained diplomas in organ and piano performance from Royal Academy of Music, Royal Faculty of Music and Royal Faculty of Organists (London). In 1901 he received his doctorate in music from Victoria University, Manchester. On February 24, 1902, in Liverpool, he married Edith Garrod and they had four sons and three daughters.
