ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Paula Elyseu Mesquita

Paula Elyseu Mesquita nasceu em Gouveia em 1975 e licenciou-se em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas na Faculdade de Letras em Coimbra. Obteve um MA em Estudos Anglo-Irlandeses na University College Dublin, em 1997, e mudou-se para o Reino Unido. Durante os estudos de mestrado e doutoramento foi assistente na University of Birmingham. Em 2001 venceu o prémio "Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha Conference", da Universidade do Mississipi. Nesse ano regressou a Portugal com uma bolsa de investigação científica da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia. Doutorou-se em Literatura Americana na Universidade de Coimbra e actualmente é Professora Auxiliar no Departamento de Letras da UBI. Desde 2003 é investigadora associada do Centro de Estudos Sociais da UC, no Núcleo de Estudos Culturais Comparados.
