This work offers a redefinition of African politics in world politics. The old paradigms and scholarship about Africa have failed to understand fully and to advance Africa, and despite various struggles Africans have waged against imperialist forces, Africa has been participating in world economics and politics as a reactive agent. The author argues that without a structural change, the contemporary African state is not capable of leading Africa in the way of social progress.

The only way out, he argues, is the articulation and advancement of the realist pan-Africanism; and that the existing regional economic organisations should be democratised, decentralised and their actions must be guided by a transnational ideology.
