ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sam Bourne

Sam Bourne is the pseudonym of award-winning journalist Jonathan Freedland. Born in 1967, Freedland writes weekly columns for The Guardian and The London Evening Standard, as well as a monthly column for The Jewish Chronicle. He is the presenter of Long View, a series on contemporary history broadcast on BBC Radio 4. He was The Guardian's Washington correspondent for four years. He is also the author of two non-fiction works: Jacob's Gift and Bring Home the Revolution (1999 Somerset Maugham Prize for Non-Fiction). He was named columnist of the year at the 2002 "What the Papers Say Awards" and was considered by the Financial Times to be one of the world's most influential commentators. The 36 Just Men is his first novel. He currently lives in London.
