ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Michael Bond

Michael Bond was born in England in 1926. He studied at Presentation College, Reading. He served in the Air Force and the British Army, before going to work for the BBC television station. In 2015, Michael was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) award for his services to children's literature, which joined the OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) award received in 1997 at a ceremony with Queen Elizabeth II.
Michael died in 2017, leaving one of the great legacies of children's literature of our time.
