ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Maurice Sendak

Maurice Sendak (USA: 1928 - 2012). Since 1951 he has written more than 90 children's books, a prestigious career that led to him receiving the Nobel Prize in 1963. Caldecott Medal, in 1970 the Prize Andersen and the Prize Laura Ingalls Wilder In 1983. In 1996, the United States Government awarded him the National Medal of Arts, and in 2003 they awarded him the International Prize. Astrid Lindgren of Children's Literature, together with the Austrian author Christine Nöstlinger. She studied Painting and Drawing at Art Students League from New York. He got his first job as an illustrator at All America Comics and in 1951 he began working as an illustrator for the publisher Harper and BrothersHe sparked a genuine revolution in the children's literary scene through the ideas, form, and content of his books. Specialized critics have classified him as "one of the most influential men in the United States, because shaping the fantasies of millions of children is a tremendous responsibility." Among his works are... "In the kitchen at night", "What's out there", "Rosie's message" or "Kenny's Window", all of them recovered by KALANDRAKA.
