Uma forma sucinta de visitar o compositor do hino que veio a ser adoptado pela República.

Essencial para conhecer o criador do hino nacional.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rui Ramos

Rui Ramos holds a degree in History from the Nova University of Lisbon and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oxford. He is currently a principal investigator at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Alongside his research career, he has taught at the Catholic University of Portugal, Nova University of Lisbon, and the University of Évora. Wadham College from the University of Oxford. He is the author of dozens of articles, published in Portuguese and foreign scientific journals, on topics such as the history of literacy in Portugal, Portuguese intellectuals in the 19th century, the political culture of liberalism, the imaginary of contemporary Portuguese colonialism, and the institution of citizenship in Portugal. He was one of the founders and a member of the editorial board of the journal Penelope. Journal of History and Social Sciences, between 1988 and 2006. Among other books, he published The Second Foundation (1890-1926), volume VI of History of Portugal, directed by José Mattoso (1994; 2nd edition in 2001), and João Franco and the Failure of Liberal Reformism, 1884-1908 (2001). He was one of the coordinators of Biographical Dictionary of Parliamentary History. The Constitutional Monarchy, 1834-1910 (2004-2005). In October 2002, the Academia Europaea awarded him the distinction of Burgen Academic in recognition of the excellence of his academic work. In 2009 he received the D. Dinis Prize, along with Bernardo de Vasconcelos e Sousa and Nuno Gonçalo Monteiro, for the work History of PortugalOn June 7, 2013, it was done Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.
