ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Philip Pullman

Philip Pullman was born in Norwich, England, in 1946. As a child, he lived in his country, Zimbabwe, and Australia. When he was eleven years old, his family returned permanently to England. He attended Exeter College, where he discovered his interest in fantasy literature. He had various professions before becoming a professor at Oxford. He then dedicated himself to literary creation, starting by writing plays and short stories. From 1985 onwards he began producing novels, but it was in 1995 that he achieved international success with the trilogy. PARALLEL WORLDS, consisting of volumes The Northern Kingdoms, The Tower of Angels and The Amber Telescope, all published by Editorial Presença. This trilogy, translated into more than 40 languages ​​and with sales exceeding 18 million copies, was selected as one of the 100 best works of all time by the magazine. Newsweek, having a worldwide successful film adaptation with the title The Golden CompassPhilip Pullman, one of the most acclaimed writers of our time, has been honored with several prestigious literary awards, including the...
