Carlos Fuentes

Carlos Fuentes (1928-2012) é autor de uma vasta obra, que inclui romances, contos, teatro e ensaio, e um dos principais expoentes da narrativa latino-americana. Ao longo da sua carreira recebeu numerosos prémios, entre eles o Prémio Cervantes (1987) e o Prémio Príncipe das Astúrias (1994). Em 2003 foi condecorado com a Legião de Honra pelo governo francês e em 2009 recebeu a Grã-Cruz da Ordem de Isabel, a Católica. Em 2012, postumamente, o governo mexicano decidiu criar um prémio literário com o seu nome.
