ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ernesto Che Guevara
Ernesto Che Guevara, um dos ícones do século XX, nasceu em Rosario, na Argentina, no dia 14 de junho de 1928. Ainda jovem estudante de medicina e depois novamente, mais tarde, quando concluiu o curso, percorreu a América Latina. Foram duas viagens que influenciaram decisivamente o seu desenvolvimento e formação, já que lhe permitiram encontrar o sentido da sua vida: a revolução. Viajou até ao México e conheceu Fidel Castro, convertendo-se de imediato num dos expedicionários que embarcariam com destino a Cuba. Os cubanos alcunharam-no carinhosamente de «Che». Nos dois anos em que durou a guerra em Cuba, tornou-se num dos mais proeminentes líderes, ocupando cargos da mais elevada responsabilidade, tanto durante a guerra como depois do triunfo revolucionário.
Deixou sempre bem claro o desejo categórico de intervir nas lutas independentistas da América Latina ou de qualquer outra região do mundo. Em 1966 encabeçou a luta guerrilheira na Bolívia, onde foi ferido, capturado e assassinado no mês de outubro de 1967.
