Jonathan Lethem

Jonathan Lethem is one of the most important contemporary American writers. His first work, Gun With Occasional Music It already revealed an author committed to subverting and merging different literary genres. In 1999, with Brooklyn Orphans, paid homage to the police universe. The work was awarded the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Gold Dagger, and was even included in several lists of the best books of the year. In 2003, with The Fortress of Solitude, achieved his first bestseller of New York TimesIn 2005, he was awarded the MacArthur Scholarship, also known as "the genius's purse". Born in Brooklyn, where he spent much of his childhood and youth, he never finished higher education, becoming a compulsive reader. For years he worked in bookstores, until he sold the film rights to his first novel. Since then, he has dedicated himself solely to writing.
