ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Alex Alice

Born in 1976, this young self-taught French illustrator took a course at the École Supérieure de Commerce in Paris. His first works appeared as illustrations for the gaming magazine Casus Belli. Subsequently, he met Xavier Dorison during a comic book festival in Paris, with whom he would work on the series written by the latter: Le Troisième Testament (The Third Testament). The release of the first volume, by Glénat, was a great success, and those that followed were equally successful. Although he was never a big fan of comics, Alice is visibly influenced by American illustrators. In his panels, of which The Third Testament is the best example, the framing, the colors, and the painting that make up the setting become as important as the drawing itself. The double-page spread of the first volume depicting Notre Dame Cathedral almost makes us dizzy. In addition to this work, he is responsible for the script of an original adaptation of the famous Tomb Raider game heroine, Lara Croft, illustrated by Patrick Fréon, and published by Glénat with the first volume in 1999. In his still short career, his participation in the illustration of the collective work Vampires should also be mentioned. Despite being quite young, Alice has already demonstrated her talent and mastery in graphic arts.
