Lost Among The Baining

In the 1960's a young couple's anthropological field trip to study the famously recalcitrant Baining people of New Zealand and struggle for decades afterward to make sense of what happened there. Wiser and more mellow, they return decades later to realize they learned much from people they had concluded to be unknowable.
