Peter Straub was born in Milwaukee (Wisconsin) in 1943. He lived in Dublin (1969-1972) and in London (1972-1979), and in 1979 he returned to the USA, currently living in New York.
Best known for his collaborations with Stephen King on bestsellers such as The Talisman (1984) and its sequel Black House (2001), he is, however, the author of a long list of books that have been translated into more than twenty languages ​​to date.
He is a member of the Horror Writers Association, the Mystery Writers of America, PEN, and the Adams Roundtable.
Among other accolades, his work has earned him a British Fantasy Award, five Bram Stoker Awards, and two World Fantasy Awards. In the Night Room is his 17th book.
