ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Christopher Clark

Christopher Clark (born 1960) is unanimously recognized as one of the most important names in European historiography.
He is a highly reputable Australian historian. He graduated in History from the University of Sydney and received his doctorate from the University of Cambridge, where he has taught Modern History since 1991. Author of numerous articles, essays and books, he gained notoriety with the... History of Prussia, a work that would receive several awards, including the celebrated Wolfson History Prize, in 2007.
Clark is a member of Arbeitsgemeinschaft zur Preußischen Geschichte (Working Group on Prussian History), of Preußische Historische Kommission (Prussian Historical Commission), as well as a consultant to the Institute of Germanic History and the Bismarck Foundation. He is also a member of the Australian Academy of Humanities and the British Academy.
He was knighted in 2015 as a result of his contribution to Anglo-German relations.
