Danielle Steel has written over 200 books, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children's books. She recently surpassed the milestone of one billion books sold worldwide and is published in numerous countries and languages.
Steel was born in New York City to a Portuguese mother and a German father, and spent much of her youth in France. A recipient of numerous distinguished literary awards, she is also the founder and leader of two charitable organizations.
A mother of nine, she lives between Paris and San Francisco.
