Impressionism

During the 1870s and 1880s, a group of French artists, including Pissarro and Renoir, adopted a style of painting and subjects that challenged the art prompted by the Academie Francaise where assumptions about the meaning of painting prevailed. This work presents a survey of the movement and features 60 reproductions of some of the renowned works.
