Imitação de Cristo

Thomas à Kempis (Kempen, Rhineland, 1379 or 1380 – Zwolle, 1471) was a Catholic monk of the Order of Saint Augustine associated with the spiritual movement "Devotio Moderna". He spent most of his life at the Monastery of Mount St. Agnes, near Zwolle, in the Netherlands, where he dedicated himself to copying manuscripts, writing spiritual texts, and living a life centered on contemplation. Although he wrote about forty devotional works, posterity knows him mainly for the attribution of authorship of Imitation of Christ.
