Gravity Is The Thing

Jaclyn Moriarty was born in Perth in 1968 and grew up in Sydney, Australia, with four sisters and a brother, surrounded by stories. She wrote her first short story at the age of seven and, despite feeling it wouldn't be the greatest piece of literature ever, continued writing. She always wanted to be a writer but, along with that desire, she was always aware that she needed "a real job." After much indecision, she graduated in English and Law from the University of Sydney, later completing a Master's degree at Yale and a PhD at Cambridge, both in Law. She also worked in a law firm while writing her novels for young adults and adults, until she finally decided to dedicate herself to writing full-time. She received the NSW Premier Literary Prizethe Queensland Literary Prize and the Aurealis Fantasy Award. His books are included in the list of Boston Globe Books of Honor, the list of Best Books for Young Adults from the American Library Association and the selection of White CrowsShe loves chocolate, blueberries, ice skating, and sleeping.
