Tennessee Williams

Tennessee Williams was born in 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi. He was one of the most admirable and prolific playwrights of the 20th century, winning numerous awards, including two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama and a Tony Award for Best Play. But he is primarily remembered as the author of plays that gave rise to unforgettable films such as A Streetcar Named Desire or Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Also, the short story that lends its title to this book was adapted for the cinema, directed by John Huston. He died in New York in 1983.
