Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley (1797-1851) was born into a British intellectual family. She was a novelist, playwright, essayist, biographer, travel writer, and editor of the works of her husband, the Romantic poet and philosopher Percy Bysshe Shelley, whom she married in 1816. His most relevant work, Frankenstein, is considered one of the earliest examples in the genre of science fiction.
