ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Artur Manso

He was born in the autumn of 1964 in the village of Izeda, in the Trás-os-Montes region. He holds a degree in Philosophy, specializing in Education, from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto; a Master's and a Doctorate in Education, specializing in Philosophy of Education, from the University of Minho, where he is currently a professor at the Institute of Education. He researches in the field of Philosophy of Education, in the areas of Ethics and Aesthetics of Education, as well as Portuguese pedagogical-philosophical thought of the 20th century. He has published extensively on the life and work of Agostinho da Silva and on the theme of education in a broad sense.
