Après avoir connu la dictature et la guerre civile, le Nacencio, État d'Amérique latine, s'engage sur la voie de la modernisation. Jiro Taniguchi

(1947-2007) Published his first work in the early 1970s. The discovery of European comics marked a turning point in Taniguchi's work, as he chose to work alone, writing and drawing his own stories. From 1991 onwards, his work was based on his personal experience and on the attentive, profoundly human observation of his fellow human beings and their daily lives.
Taniguchi's work reflects positive feelings, a sincere appreciation for cultural traditions, a strong connection to family, and a return to childhood as a way to rediscover his origins.
