Deep Six

Clive Cussler (1931-2020) grew up in Alhambra, California. He enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War, where he served as a mechanic, engineer, and flight technician. Upon his return, he became creative director at two multinational advertising agencies, where he won several awards. Cussler began writing in 1965 and founded the NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency), a non-profit organization for research into Maritime and Naval History.
