ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Aurora Venturini

Aurora Venturini was born in La Plata, Argentina, in 1921. She was a writer, translator and teacher.
He graduated in Philosophy and Educational Sciences.
She worked at the Instituto de Psicología y Reeducación del Menor, where she became close friends with Eva Perón.
In 1948, he received the Initiation Prize from Jorge Luis Borges, for the poetry book El solitario.
He went into exile in Paris after the coup d'état of 1955, and lived in this city for about twenty-five years, working with figures such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Eugène Ionesco, Juliette Gréco and Albert Camus.
He translated and wrote about French poets such as Lautréamont and Rimbaud.
He said he didn't know how to fry an egg or clean the house, but he wrote daily, always on a typewriter or by hand, because he distrusted computers. She is the author of more than thirty books, although it was only at the end of her life that she was recognized as having an unavoidable literary talent.
He died in Buenos Aires in 2015.
